Solutions to the Persistent Shortage of IV Fluids

The global shortage of intravenous (IV) fluids has emerged as a significant challenge for healthcare systems worldwide. The shortage impacts patient care, increases healthcare costs, and places additional burdens on society and governments. A series of interrelated factors have contributed to this global crisis, including natural disasters, global pandemic, manufacturing disruptions, supply chain vulnerabilities, increased global demand, and regulatory challenges. The Kingdom of Saudia Arabia (KSA) continues to provide these essential IV fluids through importing and dependency on external manufacturers. We aim to change that at Shamekh Life Sciences through a partnership with all government agencies of The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

We believe the solution requires diversification of the IV solution supply chain by localizing production sites in selected regions to prevent reliance on a single facility or geographic area. We believe producing high-quality IV products in the Kingdom ensures the availability of safe and effective intravenous fluids by addressing supply chain vulnerabilities.

We plan to carefully evaluate and smartly use debt and equity financing options that align with longer-term goals and calculated to strengthen the company’s competitive position. The financial impact results in the host country receiving economic stimulus, technology transfer, and knowledge transfer. The investors receiving attractive returns and knowledge that their investments are improving medical conditions worldwide.
